24th Annual Spring Symposium:

“Make Mine Mediterranean!”

Presented by The Herb Society of America Wisconsin Unit

Close your eyes and envision yourself cruising the Mediterranean coast, stopping at various ports to seek your favorite culinary herbs that are native here. The sun is shining through the fog, the waves are crashing on the rocky shores, and the air is redolent with fragrances of basil, oregano, thyme, mint, lavender, and the quintessential Mediterranean herb, rosemary! Carrie Hennessy will be our guide, teaching us how to keep these culinary herbs happy in Wisconsin, far from their homeland shores. We will learn how to grow, harvest, and use these herbs to create Mediterranean dishes.

Carrie Hennessy is the Landscape Designer and Horticulturist for the Installation Department at Johnson’s Nursery, Inc. in Menomonee Falls. She is a prolific writer and frequent speaker on a variety of gardening topics.

Come sail away with us to the Mediterranean coast. Think sunshine in Sicily, not winter in Wisconsin!

Directions to the Woman’s Club:

Valet service available at the front entrance of the Woman’s Club

From North: I-43 – take McKinley Ave. exit, turn left on McKinley, right at Broadway, left on Kilbourn Ave., right on Cass St., left turn into parking lot behind Club.
From South: I-94/I-43 – to I-794 east. Take Van Buren/Jackson exit, turn slight left onto VanBuren, then right on Kilbourn. From Kilbourn, east to Cass St., turn right and then left into the Club parking lot.
From West: I-94 east – continue onto I-794 east. Take VanBuren/Jackson exit, and continue as above.
