Hope’s Program Open House

Join us as we celebrate recognize the students who have participated in our 2013-2014 Plant Hope Program!

Plant Hope is a multi-session program provided by the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens. Students in elementary school visit FBBG four times throughout the school year to experience plant-science, nature-driven programming.

The Plant Hope Program Open House is an opportunity for students to show what they have learned at Boerner throughout the school year.

The Plant Hope Program Open House will be led by 15 students from Browning Elementary School.  The students will man the four stations listed below.  

Planting Demonstration

Student led planting demonstration – transplanting seedlings into raised bed gardens (4 students)

Seed Ball Station

Student led demonstration /all visitors to this station are welcome to create a seed ball to take home

Rain Water Reclamation Station

Student led water testing demonstration & opportunity to view water samples (and microscopic creatures that live there) from rain water reclamation stream

Worm Tea Station

Student led vermicomposting & worm tea demonstration/ all visitors to this station are welcome to assemble a worm tea bag to take home
